Apoorva Gundeti is an actor, writer, and producer. Through her work, Apoorva strives to share stories that re-envision South Asian representation, female friendship, and the immigrant experience.
After appearing in the Oxford Playhouse production of Dick Whittington at the ripe age of 8, Apoorva fell in love with the performing arts. For better or for worse, she has not been able to shake the bug since.
Apoorva graduated from The University of Chicago with a dual degree in Cinema & Media Studies and Global Studies. During college, Apoorva began improvising, writing, producing, and acting in shows at the Second City and iO. Apoorva is a graduate of the 2020 Black Box ACADEMY and the Second City Conservatory Program.
On screen highlights include: HBO Max’s “Sweethearts” opposite Kiernan Shipka, “RELAY” opposite Lily James and Riz Ahmed, Apple TV’s “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” and CBS’ “FBI: International.”
As a producer, she is the Director of Development at DesiMo Productions founded by Desiree Staples. Apoorva worked on the teams for feature films “My Divorce Party” and “Patient,” short film “The Blue Diamond” and more.
Apoorva previously created the the award-winning web series “Stuck in Reality”, which premiered at The Chinese Theater in LA as part of the Hollyshorts Screening Series. Her pilot script “Me Vs. You” has been recognized by LaunchPad Pilot Competition, Finish Line Script Competition, a Semi-Finalist at Austin Film Festival, and Runner-up in the Junior Hollywood Television and Radio Society Script Competition.
Apoorva is currently producing and will act in feature film “THREE SITTERS,” written & directed by Abigail Holland.
